The display is showing H/F or Heat Flt

H/F or Heat Flt refers to “Heat Fault” and means that the press is unable to heat up as it should.

This could be caused by several issues, repairs should only be carried out by Adkins technicians or a competent person.

The below components can be found under the top cover; for help removing the top cover, please see our video HERE.

Make sure there is no damage to the wiring loom that goes towards the heat plate (This is a bundle of white wires surrounded by a plastic coil that goes down into the cable post and to the heat plate).

Check the spade connections (XPCRIMP [Blue/Large]) and terminals on the back control board (XP7006BC* / BMC332/B*), if they are burnt or browned they should be replaced.

Check for continuity across the element. Use a multi-meter to check for continuity across both element wires connected to the back control board. If there is continuity then both the thermal cut out and element are working; if there is no continuity then there is a problem with the wiring loom (XP7006AL / LOOM), the thermal cut out (XP7006AT / BMC338), or the heating element. The heating element is within the heat plate which differs depending which press you have; please contact us with your serial number so we can find the correct one for you.
