Unattended printers and equipment - extended breaks and public holidays

Any printer that requires regular maintenance that is due to be left unattended for an extended period of time may require some steps to be taken beforehand.

We recommend to consult your manufacturer documentation for full information on how best to handle your equipment during any period of inactivity.

Some systems may simple need standard maintenance whilst others may need some additional steps (for example many Mimaki systems require a custody wash prior being left for an amount of time). Some systems may require the ink to be fully drained down and replaced with cleaning solution depending on how long the printer will be inactive.
