If for any reason your Adkins DTF dryer is not feeding or working in automatic mode as you may expect, if could be due to one or more of the following reasons.
1. The three conditions of auto mode are not met
For the Adkins Inline / Compact / Pro to work in auto mode the following three conditions must be met
- The front Film In sensor must sense the film - see Front Film In Sensor not working
- The powder weight value must exceed 50% - Add more powder or recalibrate the powder weight sensor (see Powder Weight Sensor Calibration)
- The temperature must reach the set temperature value - Allow time for the system to reach it's set temperature value before auto mode can begin
2. Vacuum function is not activated
Ensure that the vacuum function is activated, allowing vacuum at the suction rollers so that the film is held in place and pulled through as auto mode is enabled.
3. Media is slipping on the front suction roller
Depending on the film type and width, it may be that the film is slipping on the front suction roller and therefore not being pulled through. This could be because of one of the following:
- Vacuum function is not activated
- Too much powder on film
- Feed speed set too high
- Static on film causing film to stick to pre-heat
- Film has been left against the pre heat for some time and become stuck
- Low vacuum pressure
- Media guides set to close
For more information please see Film slipping on front vacuum roller during initial film loading
4. Media is not attached to the rear take-up holder
Ensure that the media is webbed up correctly, under the tension bar and attached to the rear take up roller.
If the film is not attached to the take up bar it cannot be pulled through the system allowing the auto function to work. The film must be under the tension bar, as the position of the tension bar determines other operational aspects of the system dependent on model i.e. the Inline and Pro range belt will move in reverse when the tension bar is first activated.
